Help Harmon Grow

A campus meeting will be held May 4 at 7 p.m. in the Alumni House lounge to review the proposed project to expand Harmon Gymnasium to create a new athletics and activity center.

To be renamed the Walter A. Haas Jr. Pavilion, when rebuilt the gymnasium will house academic, intercollegiate and recreation programs. The meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the project and offer ideas on issues the university should include in an environmental impact report.

Getting Hired Help

Procurement and Business Contracts will offer training May 10 on how to acquire the services of independent contractors performing as consultants.

The workshop will run from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in 150 University Hall. Speakers will be Charles Noland, manager of Procurement and Business Contracts, and Dennis Bartling, senior buyer in charge of contracting for consultant services.

80th Birthday Party

An all-day symposium on "The Role of University Research in Managing National Parks for the 21st Century" will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the U.S. Park Service on campus May 5.
