Delayed Staff Merit Increases To Be Effective July 1

Notice to the Campus Community

The Office of the President has advised the campuses to proceed with the delayed January 1995 staff merit increase program, to be effective July 1, 1995. Control units received detailed guidelines on the program last week.

This merit cycle applies to eligible staff employees covered under Staff Personnel Policy and exclusively represented employees covered by the clerical, service, patient care and technical contracts.

The service unit contract was ratified in April 1995; therefore, the new pay rates will appear on the merit listings.

The university is in the process of negotiating the technical unit contract and merit process.

Employees represented by Alameda County Building and Construction Trades Council (Skilled Craft) and California Nurses Association and Printing Trades Alliance are not covered by this merit cycle.

This merit cycle is for all eligible employees from the January 1995 cycle.

Classified staff employees whose merit eligibility date was Jan. 1, 1995, had their merits delayed six months to be effective July 1, 1995, where applicable.

Employees who were eligible for a merit increase on Jan. 1, 1995, and who are promoted or reclassified between Jan. 1, 1995 and June 30, 1995, remain eligible for their (delayed) merit increases on July 1, 1995.
