In a happily uneventful action, the sand volleyball courts at People's Park were removed and a new grassy play area installed this month. "There was no reason for any protests. Everyone agreed this was a good idea," said David Duncan, senior planner and a member of the People's Park Community Advisory Board.
The board is made up of representatives from the campus, the city, local business owners and community members, including park activists. The board will continue to plan for the park's future, said Duncan, noting that a tot lot and stage improvements are currently envisioned. |
