Management Award Nominations Sought

The Berkeley Staff Assembly's Committee on Excellence in Management is currently seeking nominations for its annual award for outstanding managers and supervisors.

The theme for the 1996-97 award is "job coaching for organizational readiness."

The committee seeks to recognize managers or supervisors who promote organizational readiness by actively encouraging staff to develop their capacity to respond to change -- though technical skills, equipment, access to information and creative approaches to problem solving.

The award is open to all employees who have held supervisory or managerial responsibilities for one year or more in their current position.

Nominations must originate from staff directly supervised by the nominee and must include supporting signatures from at least half of his or her staff.

The deadline for nominations is March 14. Nomination forms are available at the Berkeley Staff Assembly website: http://bsa.berkeley.edu:4218/.

Submit nominations to Stephanie Smith, School of Social Welfare, 120 Haviland Hall, #7400.

For information contact Smith at 642-4405 or email stsmith@uclink2.berkeley.edu.
