Laureate Lauded

Poet Laureate and Berkeley English professor Robert Hass is a recipient of the National Book Critics Circle Award for his collection of poems, "Sun Under Wood."

The award, announced March 18 at a gathering held at New York University Law School, was accepted by Hass' publisher, Dan Halpern, who said the professor has worked tirelessly for the cause of verse during his term as Poet Laureate, "and now he gets something back."
