New Titles in Order For Christ, Hyatt

posted Apr. 1, 1998

Chancellor Berdahl has announced that Vice Chancellor and Provost Carol T. Christ will now have the title Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost. Further, James Hyatt has been promoted to Vice Chancellor for Resource Planning and Budget.

“These new titles are a recognition of the roles that Carol and Jim have been playing for some time. The titles now correspond to the work that each actually does,” said Berdahl.

Berdahl said the new titles do not reflect a change in the campus administration. The only change in reporting lines will be that Hyatt, formerly the associate chancellor who has been reporting to Christ, will now also report to the chancellor. All vice chancellors will continue to report to Berdahl.

Meanwhile, the campus continues its search for a vice chancellor for capital projects, a new position that was announced by Berdahl in October in conjunction with the initiation of the Seismic Action Plan for Facilities Enhancement and Renewal (SAFER).
