Caring For a Loved One With Dementia: Managing Daily Care at Home
March 2, noon-1:30 p.m.
Townsend Center for the Humanities

This informative lecture will teach caregivers practical techniques and suggestions to help persons with dementia perform their activities of daily living, maintain good nutrition and physical health, and assure safety in the home. No enrollment required.

Facing Stress With Less Distress
March 2, 9, and 16, 12:10-1:30 p.m.
This three-part workshop focuses on basic stress management techniques. Topics include tools for identifying stresses in your work and personal life, specific coping strategies to reduce stress and the benefits of using various relaxation techniques.

Dealing With Difficult Situations and Behaviors in the Workplace
March 3, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Dealing with difficult situations, or our emotions and incompatible styles presents a most difficult challenge in the workplace. Participants learn ways to analyze and deal with problematic situations, people and personal styles in constructive ways.

CALS Project Tutor Training
Mar. 15, 17, 22, 24; 1-4 p.m.;
Apr. 7, 1-3 p.m.
The CALS Project will hold a tutor training beginning March 15.

Since 1993, 400 volunteer tutors have been trained to provide one-to-one tutoring for employees who have asked for help improving their writing, speaking, reading or basic math skills. If you are interested in teaching and can spare an hour per week (at your convenience) for six months, consider joining this powerfully satisfying program.

The upcoming training is a new format with fewer sessions. Attendance at the first four sessions is required. A certificate is award for completion of the training. For those with equivalent training and/or experience, all or parts of this training can be waived in lieu of an abbreviated program orientation.
