Celebrating
Chicano-Latino car culture for Semana de la Raza
Posted May 10,
2000
Shiny
chrome, dazzling sequins and artful detailing were plentiful
Sunday, April 30 at Underhill parking lot, where local low
rider enthusiasts showed off more than 100 prize autos for a
Semana de la Raza Low Rider Car and Bicycle Show.
Organized by the student organization MEChA and the East
Bay-based Low Riders Limited, the event brought campus and
community together in a celebration of Chicano-Latino
culture and an effort to dispel stereotypes about low
riding. The name of this Isuzu is "My Toy 2."
