Strike information

21 August 2002 |

The Coalition of University Employees (CUE), which represents clerical employees on the Berkeley campus, has given notice that it plans to hold a three-day strike on Aug. 26, 27 and 28, the first three days of classes.

A website (www.berkeley.edu/news/labor) is available to provide information related to the CUE strike. The site provides up-to-date information on campus operations, and information for campus staff and supervisors. Every effort will be taken to avoid disruption, especially for students in their first days of class, campus officials say.

The website will also include links to fact sheets and to questions and answers about CUE negotiations that are under way with the University of California Office of the President. CUE and other union contracts are negotiated through UCOP on a systemwide basis.
