Letters to the Editor:
To further its commitment to ongoing open
communication, the Berkeleyan publishes letters to the
editor. Letters are limited to 250 words and will
be subject to editing. Letters should address
issues and ideas of general interest to the campus
and must avoid personal criticism.
Opinion Columns:
Faculty and staff are encouraged to write
in-depth guest opinion columns not to exceed 750
words on issues of broad interest. Columns may be
edited.
To Submit a Letter or Opinion Column:
You may send letters by campus mail:
Letters--Berkeleyan
Office of Public Affairs
2200 Bancroft Way, #4204
Berkeley, CA 94720-4204
You may also submit letters via e-mail to
berkeleyan@berkeley.edu.
Faculty and staff interested in writing guest opinion columns
should contact Editor Jonathan King at (510) 643-4654, or by
e-mail at jfking@berkeley.edu.
Other Info:
Letters to the editor and opinion columns may be
submitted by current or retired faculty and staff,
with the opportunity for students to participate
from time to time. Because of limited space,
the Berkeleyan may not be able to print all letters or
opinion columns submitted and may have to limit the
number of letters on one subject or from one
contributor. Submissions must be signed; the
author's name will be published.
