Contact: Pat McBroom
(510) 643-7944

WHAT:

A lecture by author and psychiatrist Price M. Cobbs, M.D., who wrote the book, "Black Rage," 30 years ago, about his upcoming sequel, "Beyond Rage: The Search for an American Identity." He also will discuss his newly-released book on accessing untapped powers of leadership and achievement, "Cracking the Corporate Code: From Survival to Mastery."

WHEN: Sunday, Nov. 19, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
WHERE: Krutch Theater on the Clark Kerr campus, at 2602 Warring Street, UC Berkeley.
WHO:

Cobbs' books "Black Rage" and "The Jesus Bag," the latter co-authored with William Grier, have become classic texts in African American literature. His 30 years of working with racial issues in America and around the globe have now resulted in two new books: a sequel to "Black Rage," and one that provides a glimpse into the world of African American men and women executives, co-authored with Judith Turnock Esq. Cobbs will sign copies of "Cracking the Corporate Code," a resource guide for African American leaders.

He will be honored at this public meeting and reception by the Bay Area Association of Black Psychologists. The event is co-sponsored by UC Berkeley's departments of psychology and African American studies.

NOTE: For further information, contact Sandra Dunn at (510) 444-1762 or Byron Spicer in UC Berkeley's Department of African American Studies at (510) 643-0734.
