WHAT:
"Beyond Violence: Exploring Alternatives to War," a public forum to be held by the University of California, Berkeley's Peace and Conflict Studies program and the University Religious Council, an interfaith council of campus ministries.

In light of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, a group of scholars, authors, activists and others will gather to discuss recent developments and alternatives to war. Student poets and musicians will perform.

Tomorrow night, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. (Thursday, Sept. 20)

Wheeler Auditorium, UC Berkeley campus

UC Berkeley Professor Michael Nagler
Chair, Peace and Conflict Studies

Rabbi Michael Lerner
Editor, San Francisco-based Tikkun magazine

Joanna Macy
Berkeley-based activist and Buddhism scholar
