Update on Bill Clinton Jan. 29 speech at UC Berkeley: Video simulcast will be made available to campus community

25 January 2002

The UC Berkeley campus is making available a video simulcast of a speech by former President Clinton on Tuesday, Jan. 29.

Members of the campus community who were unable to get tickets to the free event in Zellerbach Hall may watch the speech live on video screens in the Haas Pavilion. The rear doors to the pavilion, those on the west side facing Evans (baseball) Field, are expected to open at about 2:30 p.m. That entrance is best accessible off of Frank Schlessinger Way, which is near the corner of Oxford and Center streets.

The event will also include brief remarks by California Gov. Gray Davis. Orville Schell, dean of UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism, will hold a conversation with Clinton following the former president's speech.

For those attending the event in Zellerbach Hall, please note that no backpacks and no flash photography will be allowed inside the auditorium.
