Former U.S. Labor Secretary to talk on politics and principles

Berkeley - Former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert B. Reich will speak about politics and principles on Thursday, Jan. 30 in a public lecture at the University of California, Berkeley.

The program sponsored by UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Sibley Auditorium of the Bechtel Engineering Center.

Reich has served in three national administrations, most recently as the labor secretary during the Clinton administration.

He is the author of 10 books, including "The Work of Nations," which has been translated into 21 languages. His articles have appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly and The New York Times, as well as in scholarly journals. He also is cofounder and national editor of The American Prospect magazine.

Reich is the Maurice B. Hexter professor of social and economic policy at Brandeis University's Heller Graduate School.
