Bears, Hokies and the BOB: Time to order bowl tickets and plan your Phoenix trip
BERKELEY – It's official - Cal's football team has accepted an invitation to play in the Insight Bowl on Friday, Dec. 26, in Phoenix, Ariz. Cal (7-6) will meet the Virginia Tech Hokies (8-4) of the Big East conference in Cal's first bowl appearance since 1996.
It is the first-ever game between the Golden Bears and the Hokies. (What's a Hokie? We'll let Virginia tech explain.)
The game will take place at 5:30 p.m. Berkeley time at the "BOB," Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN, starting at 5 p.m. PST.
Fans can order bowl tickets online, or by mail, fax, or telephone. For seating priority, orders must be received by Friday, Dec. 12.
Travel packages are now available through the California Alumni Association, including one package with air travel and another without. Bowl game tickets are not be part of the package and must be purchased separately through the Cal Athletic Ticket Office.
