Sirens today signal special exercise

| 30 June 2009

The campus's emergency sirens will sound this morning Tuesday, June 30) as part of UC Berkeley's annual emergency response exercise. This year's exercise tests the campus's readiness to respond to a major earthquake. The sirens will be activated at approximately 8:15 a.m. at the beginning of the drill, and again at 11 a.m. as the exercise concludes.

The sirens will sound again at noon tomorrow (Wednesday, July 1) as part of the regular test of the campus's alerting and warning system on the first Wednesday of each month.
