 WHAT

"Political Leadership in a World of Suspicion," a talk by Tom Campbell, a California gubernatorial candidate who is a former dean of the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

Campbell will explore the many instances in which some members of the public don't believe the reasons given by political leaders for policy initiatives, a reflection of their lack of trust in these leaders' integrity. Campbell plans to cite such examples as the rationales for the war in Iraq and for U.S. troops in Afghanistan, the initiatives on the ballot in California last May, the national health care reform bill, and national financial services regulation.

 WHEN

7:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4

 WHERE

Andersen Auditorium, Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. See map. (Location has been changed from earlier announcements.)

 WHO

Tom Campbell served as dean of the Haas School from 2002 to 2008; he took a one-year sabbatical during his tenure to serve as director of finance under California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
