BERKELEY -- Alison McGill, 47, has joined the University of California at Berkeley as its chief financial officer and controller, a newly created position. At UC Berkeley, she oversees nine financial and business services units with operating budgets totaling $6.8 million.

McGill joins UC Berkeley after serving 22 years with the California State University system. Her most recent position was associate vice president for finance for CSU Sacramento.
