Overview

For organizations looking for a speaker, UC Berkeley is a treasure trove. A catalyst of economic growth and social innovation, UC Berkeley has been repeatedly ranked at or near the top in fields ranging from engineering and the "hard" sciences to the social sciences, arts, and humanities.

The UC Berkeley Speakers Bureau assists organizations in California that are seeking a faculty expert. The UC Berkeley motto of "Fiat Lux — Let There Be Light" reflects our commitment to connect our community with the rich intellectual life of the University.

If you know who you would like to speak to your organization, take a look at how we assist and what we require, and then fill out the speaker request form. For ideas on prospective speakers, we invite you to explore The Berkeley Blog and its list of faculty, or search our list of campus experts.

Our speakers are volunteers, and we are grateful for their participation and support of this program. Please keep in mind that they have limited time and busy schedules. While it may not be possible to obtain your first choice of a speaker, we often can find an alternate with similar expertise. We will do our best to accommodate your requests and assist you in planning a successful event.

Please read through the guidelines and responsibilities outlined on this website. If you decide to host a speaker from UC Berkeley, please consult with your organization officers and submit your request at least 4-6 weeks before the event. If you have any questions about the UC Berkeley Speakers Bureau, please contact La Dawn Duvall at (510)-643-8888 or lduvall@berkeley.edu.
