Cal Athletics posted its highest finish ever in the Directors' Cup in 2010-11, taking third overall in rankings that measure overall excellence. The Golden Bears captured national championships in men's and women's swimming and diving, as well as in rugby, with 14 teams placing among the nation's top 10. Cal also produced 16 individual national champions, four national coaches of the year and three national players of the year.
