Comment Asked in LBL Director Review

Every five years UC reviews the performance of each campus chancellor and laboratory director and this month brings a review of LBL Director Charles Shank.

Employees are encouraged to send in comments on Shank for consideration by the review board.

Comments should be submitted in writing to Dr. John Armstrong, Chair of the Review Board, University of California, Office of Laboratory Affairs, 300 Lakeside Drive, 18th Floor, Oakland, Calif. 94612-3550.

Alternatively, employees who wish to address the board in person may request to do so by calling 987-9409 no later than Dec. 22.

In addition to his directorship, Shank holds faculty appointments in three departments on campus: chemistry, physics, and electrical engineering and computer sciences.

Adopt a Fine Family

You can adopt a needy family for the holidays this month by contacting Cal Corps before Dec. 9.

Donors select holiday gifts for each member of their adopted family.

Location and size of family can be specified. Sponsors can be individuals or groups. In the past these have included departments, clubs, friends, and even groups of other families.

Cal Corps' Adopt-A-Family program benefits Children's Hospital of Oakland and the Berkeley Emergency Food Project.

For further details, call Angel at Cal Corps, 642-3916, or stop by the Public Service Center, 505 Eshleman Hall.
