10th Campus Site Set

In a decision described by UC President Jack Peltason as "historic," the UC Board of Regents selected the Lake Yosemite site in Merced County to build a future campus in Central California. The selection concluded more than six years of study and consideration of more than 85 locations. The vote on May 18 was 15-4 in favor of Merced's Lake Yosemite site. Peltason stressed there is no funding for planning or construction, but said the university fully expects to eventually expand services in the San Joaquin Valley.
