"Affirmative Action: Dispelling the Myths"

Annamaria Loya of the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund, Lipman Room, Barrows Hall.

"Impact of Affirmative Action on UC (Admissions, Employment and Contracting)"

Speakers: Fran Buchanan of Equal Rights Advocates; Martha Jimenez of the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund; Bob Laird, director of Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools; Ed Apodaca of San Francisco State University; and others. Maud Fife Room, Wheeler Hall.

"Affirmative Action: What's Next (Tying it all together)"

Speakers: Rebecca Gordon, Californians for Justice; Eddie Wong, Rainbow Coalition; Hatem Bazian, Graduate Minority Student Project and Californians for Affirmative Action. Maud Fife Room, Wheeler Hall.

The Staff Affirmative Action Office will offer "Managing Diversity at UCB: An 'Overview' Workshop" Fee is $15.

This workshop defines diversity and uses exercises, discussion and lecture to explore the interaction of diversity and management, including the role of the manager, skills to manage effectively in a multicultural environment, the relationship between diversity and affirmative action and resources available to managers. The workshop will help participants confidentially identify and assess their own multicultural skills.
