Visiting Scholar Named Clinton Campaign Adviser

Visiting scholar Jon Gould has been named senior adviser to Peter Knight, national campaign manager for the Clinton-Gore ticket.

An expert on the Democratic presidential campaign's political, legal and financial operations, Gould is currently with the Institute of Governmental Studies.

He earned a law degree and a master's degree in public policy at Harvard University in 1989 and is completing his PhD in political science at the University of Chicago.

Gould worked in the Dukakis campaign in 1988 and served as a consultant for the White House Office of Inter-Governmental Relations in 1994.

He also ran Vote for a Change, a special get-out-the-vote effort aimed at young voters, for the Democratic National Committee.

Before coming to the Institute of Governmental Studies, Gould was assistant director of the International Human Rights Law Institute at DePaul University College of Law.
