Computer Health Matters. Nov. 21, 10:30 a.m.-noon

Participants in this free workshop learn about health issues related to computer use, design a user-friendly workstation and practice exercises to relieve computer-related aches and pains.

This workshop meets the campus Injury and Illness Prevention Program's health and safety training requirements for computer users.

New Employee Orientation. Nov. 19 or Dec. 3, 8:30 a.m.-noon.

This orientation covers campus structure, campus culture, benefits, computer competency and safety related issues.

Presentations addressing these issues are given by staff from the Berkeley campus Police Department; Environment, Health and Safety; University Health Services; and the campus Benefits Office.

Designing Training Programs, No. 1. Dec. 9 and 16, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

In this two-day workshop, participants learn various instructional techniques (e.g. presentations, small-group discussions, case studies, demonstration/ practice) to vary the training and maximize learning.

You will also be shown criteria to consider when developing a lesson plan and ways of evaluating the effectiveness of training.
