Molly Ivins Holds the Floor

Syndicated columnist and author Molly Ivins speaks March 20 in a conversation hosted by Douglas Foster and sponsored by the Graduate School of Journalism.

Ivins, a columnist for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, writes "about Texas politics and other bizarre happenings." Her column is syndicated in almost 200 newspapers.

Ivins, who is originally from Houston, covered the legislature in the 1970s for the muckraking Texas Observer, reported for the New York Times, and has worked for the Dallas Times Herald since the late 80s.

She is the winner of numerous awards and the author of two collections of essays, "Molly Ivins Can't Say That, Can She?" and "Nothin' But Good Times Ahead."

The event will be held at 8 p.m. in Zellerbach Auditorium. Admission is $16 for the public, $8 for students.

For tickets, call Cal Performances at 642-9988.
