Berkeley Art Museum

Free admission on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to noon and from 5 to 9 p.m. The museum is located at 2525 Durant Ave.

The Botanical Garden

Free admission daily from 6:15 to 7 p.m. and all day Thursdays. Free docent-led tours Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays beginning at 1:30 p.m. and by appointment. A free "Sick Plant Clinic" is held the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon.

Lawrence Hall of Science

Free Saturday night star gazing from the plaza (under construction through October). Admission to the hall: $2-6 per person.

UC Men's Octet and Golden Overtones

College a cappella at its best. Noontime performances Wednesdays and Fridays at Sather Gate.

Department of Music Noon Concert Series

Wednesdays at Hertz Hall during the academic year.

UC Berkeley Libraries

Reading rooms of campus libraries open to the public year-round.

Lunch Poem Series

Free readings the first Thursday of every month. Call 642-0137 for schedule and location. Under the direction of Professor Robert Hass, U.S. Poet Laureate 1995-97.

California Athletic Hall of Fame Room at Memorial Stadium

Free admission the first Thursday of every month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sather Tower (Campanile)

Breathtaking views and carillon concerts for $1. Open year-round 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday-Saturday, and Sundays 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

The Phoebe Hearst Museum of Anthropology

Free admission on Thursdays. The museum is located in Kroeber Hall at Bancroft Way and College Avenue.

Campus Tours

Free tours offered Monday-Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Weekday tours depart from University Hall (corner of Oxford Street and University Avenue); weekend tours depart from Sather Tower.
