Flextime Guide A Big Hit at Conference

posted November 11, 1998

The booklet "Flexible Work Arrangements: A Guide for Staff," written by Associate Staff Ombuds Margo Wesley and produced by the Staff Ombuds Office, was snapped up at the Worklife Conference held in late October in Newport Beach.

The booklet describes a wide array of work schedule possibilities for Berkeley staff, has a useful checklist for a flexible work arrangement, and describes the steps to take to find which flexible schedule is best for a specific employee or a specific work unit.

"The conference was organized for the nine UC campuses," said Wesley. "The whole point of the conference was to share ideas on how to balance work and life."

More than 300 people attended the conference.

Wesley said there are still copies of the guide available for departments who need them. For information, call 642-7823.
