The senior class launched its gift campaign March 17 on Lower Sproul Plaza. Erickson -- who is spearheading the '49ers' class gift drive and quarterbacked the 1949 Cal Rose Bowl team -- was quick to raise the ante, pledging $10,000 to whichever class generates the greatest participation rate in its respective drive.
The Class of '99 is raising funds for either a University Library acquisitions endowment or a California Alumni Association Achievement award scholarship. Seniors will vote to decide on the final recipient. Peg Skorpinski photo.
