Leiman Memorial Feb. 4 at Faculty Club

A memorial service honoring psychology Professor Arnold Leiman, who died Jan. 5, will be held Friday, Feb. 4, at 3:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Faculty Club. For information, call 642-5292.

Medical Plan Sessions Planned

The Campus Benefits Unit in Human Resources is offering Medical Plan Informational Sessions to educate plan members and help them use the plans effectively.

All medical plan carriers except Western Health Advantage will participate. The dates are: Health Net, Feb. 17; UC Care, March 2; Kaiser North, March 23; and PacifiCare, April 6.

All sessions will be held in Room 150 University Hall; there will be two sessions each day. The first session, from 10 to 11:30 am, will focus on plans for retirees who are coordinated with Medicare. The second session, noon - 1:30 pm, will focus on the regular medical plans. No pre-registration is required.

Festival Features South Asian Films

The South Asia Film Festival will bring a new film to campus every week through March 22. All films will be shown 6 - 9 p.m.,Wednesdays, in 100 Wheeler Hall. The event is free and open to the public; all films are with English subtitles.

"Kabhi Kabhi" will be featured this Wednesday night, Feb. 9. It's the story of a poet whose parents won't let him marry his college sweetheart. The unfulfilled desire for her causes deep anguish in his domestic life. Feb. 16 features "Dil Se," a film that raises profound questions about the lengths men go to court women and the impact of terrorism on interpersonal relations.

I-House Offers Financial Assistance

International House room and board financial aid awards for international students, U.S. citizens and permanent residents are now available for academic year 2000-2001, or fall semester 2000.

Those eligible are graduate or upper-division students who will have already completed one academic year at Berkeley and demonstrated financial need.

Applications are available in the foyer of the Human Resources and Residence offices at International House. Application deadline: March 3.
