2000 Cal Profiles available on Web

On Nov. 9, the Office of Planning and Analysis and Computing Operations and Information Systems will release the 2000 Cal Profiles - a central management report on all campus units - via the Web at http:// callisto.chance.berkeley.edu/calprofiles/.

The profiles contain seven years of central data on resources, workload, performance indicators, and outreach efforts. Some units have also supplemented the central data with unit-specific data and executive summaries.

Planning begins for Cal Day 2001

For the next Cal Day, on April 21, all academic departments and support units are invited to host displays, give demonstrations, sponsor lectures, hold open houses or reserve an information table on Dwinelle Plaza.

About 30,000 visitors come to Cal Day each year from across the Bay Area.

Regular Cal Day information will be sent to designated contacts in each department. Those who do not receive information and want to participate may call Lani Shepp at 642-5215.

Underhill discussion planned for Nov.13

An open house for students and neighbors to learn about Underhill Area projects will be held 7 - 8:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13, in the Unit II recreation room.

The Underhill Area projects include a new dining complex and offices, student housing, parking and a sports field on the south side of the campus. The final environmental impact report will be available at the meeting as will the latest building designs.

Some changes to the original projects were made to address concerns raised by students, community members and city officials. Changes include alterations to the design of the dining complex and a decision by the campus to preserve and relocate historic Fox Cottage to a site in the immediate neighborhood rather than demolish it.
