Kick the habit

Can’t deal with the new 15-foot no-smoking limit? Consider quitting. University Health Services offers free resources to help people kick the smoking habit.

Freedom from Tobacco workshops

Call 644-6422 or e-mail quitnow@ci.berkeley.ca.us to enroll in this free program. Participants have the option of receiving acupuncture at each session.

UHS e-Health web site on smoking cessation

This online guide features tips on working with doctors and campus health plans, details on smoking-cessation programs and aids, and links to additional support services.

Fill out a brief questionnaire on the website and receive a Health*Matters Quit Kit — stocked with gum, hard candy, doodling pad, pencil and stress ball, to keep hands and mouth occupied, as well as information on successful cessation.
