APRIL 17 IS CAL DAY, UC BERKELEY'S ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE
The University of California, Berkeley, invites young and old, students, parents, neighbors and the general public, to its annual open house - Cal Day - on Saturday, April 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can attend talks by world-renowned professors, check out what's happening in campus labs, tap their feet to music, cheer on sports teams, and explore the world of the UC Berkeley campus. On display are museum specimens ranging from tiny bugs to the giant T. rex dinosaur, exhibits on archaeological digs or the latest in space exploration. Nearly everything is free.
Parking is very limited in campus lots, but public transportation to campus is excellent via BART or AC Transit buses. Shuttle buses will take visitors from the Berkeley BART station.
For more information, the public can call (510) 642-2294. A full schedule of activities will be online after April 1 at http://www.berkeley.edu/calday/.
