Ghost Ranch dinosaur excavation

This video shows UC Berkeley researchers at the Hayden Quarry excavation site, in Ghost Ranch, New Mexico, in July, 2007. It includes shots of the researchers excavating fossils and interview soundbites from Randall Irmis, UC Berkeley graduate student and co-author of a paper published in Science magazine on Friday, July 20th. The paper describes fossils discovered at Hayden Quarry that show for the first time that dinosaurs and their non-dinosaur ancestors lived side by side for tens of millions of years, disproving the notion that dinosaurs rapidly replaced their supposedly outmoded predecessors.
