MEDIA ADVISORY -- Robert McNamara to speak at UC Berkeley April 13.

WHAT: Robert S. McNamara, former U.S. Secretary of Defense, will deliver the University of California at Berkeley Regents' Lecture April 13 hosted by the Graduate School of Public Policy. Topic of the lecture is "Global Security in the 21st Century."

WHEN: 2 p.m., April 13. McNamara will be visiting the Berkeley campus April 11 to 18.

WHERE: 2050 Valley Life Sciences Building.

WHY: The Regents' Lecture brings to campus distinguished individuals in many fields of expertise whose careers have been largely outside academia. McNamara served as Secretary of Defense of the United States from January 1961 to March 1968. He is author of the controversial book, "In Retrospect: The Tragedy and Lessons of Vietnam."
