02 May 2001 | The Chancellor’s Forum on Nuclear Danger and Global Survival and the Graduate School of Journalism present “The New World of Nuclear Weapons: Are We on the Brink of a New Arms Race?” at 7 p.m., Monday, May 7, in Sibley Auditorium, Bechtel Engineering Center.

Panelists include:

• Jonathan Schell, author of the “The Fate of the Earth,” “The Abolition” and “The Gift of Time: The Case for Abolishing Nuclear Weapons Now;”

• Frances Fitzgerald, author of “Way Out There in the Blue: Reagan, Star Wars and the End of the Cold War” and “Fire in the Lake;”’

• Michael Nacht, dean of the Richard and Rhoda Goldman School of Public Policy and former assistant director of the Arms Control and Disarmament Agency under the Clinton administration.

Journalism Professor Mark Danner, staff writer for The New Yorker, and author of “The Massacre at El Mozote,” will moderate.
