Campus seeks nominees for Haas awards
Campus seeks nominees for Haas awards

11 July 2001 | Nominations are open for the 2001 Elise and Walter A. Haas International Award and the 2001 Peter E. Haas Public Service Award.

The Haas International Award recognizes a Berkeley alumnus who is a native, citizen and resident of a nation other than the United States, and who has a distinguished record of service to his or her country. The service may be in any field of endeavor, including but not limited to the arts, sciences, classical professions, education, business or government.

The Haas Public Service Award honors a Berkeley alumnus who has been devoted to the betterment of society within the United States through acts of service in one of four major areas: community service (including social service), health care, environmental work or education. Special consideration is given to activity at the grassroots level.

Each award represents an important campus honor, which is presented during Charter Day ceremonies.

Nominations should be submitted by August 20.
